Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Scanned.to ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, services, and API.

Before we get into the details

If you are wondering what happens to your files when you upload them, the short answer is:

  • We upload them securely.
  • We process them only to deliver the requested conversion or translation.
  • We return the results to you.
  • We automatically delete them, together with their results, 3 days after upload. Only documents you explicitly share stay available through the share link.

We do not publish your files or share them unexpectedly.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as name, email address, and company details, along with payment-related metadata from our payment providers. We also process the files you upload and limited technical usage data such as browser type, device information, IP address, and interaction events.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in to Scanned.to with Google, Google and our authentication service provide basic identity information, such as an account identifier, your name, email address, and email verification status. Google handles authentication with your Google Account; Scanned.to does not receive your Google password.

We use this information to create or identify your Scanned.to account, sign you in, maintain your session, protect your account against abuse, and provide account support. Signing in does not upload documents for conversion or translation; you choose which files to upload separately.

Google-derived account information is stored in our authentication and account systems for as long as needed to operate your account and for the retention purposes described in Section 4. The 3-day deletion period for uploaded documents and results does not apply to account information.

Google and the authentication and infrastructure providers that help us operate Scanned.to process information needed for sign-in and account operation. The other circumstances in which we may share information are described in Section 3.

You can review or revoke Scanned.to's connection to your Google Account in your Google Account connections settings. Revoking access prevents future use of that connection, but does not automatically delete your Scanned.to account or information already stored by us. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information, contact [email protected]. We handle deletion requests subject to the retention requirements in Section 4.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate the service, authenticate users, process payments, improve performance, prevent abuse, provide support, communicate important updates, and comply with legal obligations.

3. When We Share Information

We may share information with infrastructure providers, payment processors, analytics vendors, and service providers who help us operate scanned.to. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

4. Data Retention

Uploaded documents and their results are automatically deleted 3 days after upload. After that they can no longer be opened, downloaded, or shared. Documents you explicitly share are kept as a separate copy for the share link until you revoke it. Account and billing records may be retained longer to satisfy legal, tax, audit, and fraud-prevention requirements.

5. Shared or Saved Content

If you choose to share a document on the platform, the shared copy is retained in connection with your account until you revoke the share link.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information. You can exercise available rights through your account settings or by contacting us.

7. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Children's Privacy

The platform is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date when changes take effect.

10. Contact Us
